Thatcher Demko stopped all 48 shots he faced in Thursday’s 4-0 win over Vegas in Game 6.
Demko has changed this series in a hurry. The Canucks were completely dominated by the Golden Knights in the first 40 minutes of Game 6, but they held a 1-0 lead heading into the third frame because of the play of their young goaltender. Demko made stop after stop, as Vegas seemed to be attacking the Vancouver net in waves. The 24-year-old has put the Canucks on his back while facing elimination in the last two games. He’s the first goalie since Jacques Plante (1953) to win his first two playoff games while his team was facing elimination. We’ll find out if the youngster can keep this going in Game 7 of this series on Friday night.
