Teams submit final rosters for 2016 World Cup

World Cup

The 2016 World Cup, which will be held in Toronto, is set to begin September 17 and run through the beginning of October. Many players around the NHL are getting ready for what is shaping up to be an excellent battle.

There will be eight teams competing in the 2016 World Cup: Team Canada, Team Czech Republic, Team Europe (consisting of players from European countries other than Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden), Team Finland, Team North America (consisting of top 23-and-under players from Canada and the USA), Team Russia, Team Sweden and Team USA.

The eight teams will be divided into two groups for the Preliminary Round, a round-robin tournament that is scheduled to take place from September 17-22.

Group A consists of Team Canada, Team Czech Republic, Team Europe and Team USA.

Group B consists of Team Finland, Team North America, Team Russia and Team Sweden.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the Semifinals, where the top-seeded team in each group will play the lower-seeded team in the other group; these will be elimination games and are scheduled to take place September 24 and 25.

The two Semifinals winners will advance to the Finals, a best-of-three series set to begin September 27.

Below are the final rosters submitted by each of the eight teams competing in the World Cup, as well as a list of participants from each NHL franchise.

The complete World Cup television schedules can be found here (CAN) and here (USA).
