Tarasenko’s two goals lift Blues over Stars

Vladimir Tarasenko scored a couple of goals in Thursday’s 3-2 Game 1 victory over the Dallas Stars.

With the scored tied at 1-1 late in the second period, Tarasenko got former teammate Roman Polak, to take a penalty. The Russian forward then followed that up by firing a laser in behind Ben Bishop on the ensuing power play to give the Blues the lead. In the third period, Tarasenko went to his trademark move, dropping his shoulder down the wing to blow by Miro Heiskanen and double St. Louis’ lead. The 27-year-old Tarasenko had just two goals in six Round 1 contests but he’ll start the next series with two goals as the Blues take a 1-0 lead. Robby Fabbri also scored in the win.
