Tanner Pearson scored at 3:47 of the first overtime period to win the game 2-1 for the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.
The goal was Pearson’s first of the series. Dustin Brown and Vincent Lecavalier assisted on Pearson’s game winning goal. Anze Kopitar was the other goal scorer for the Kings.
The Kings had lost all five overtime playoff games against the Sharks in their history before Monday. San Jose had won five straight and 10 of their past 11 overtime playoff games.
Kings’ goalie Jonathan Quick played a huge role in this contest stopping 29 of 30 shots.
