Roope Hintz was wearing a walking boot Monday, raising doubts about his availability for Game 7 on Tuesday, Sean Shapiro of The Athletic reports.
This is hugely disappointing news for the Dallas Stars as Hintz has been a breakout player in these playoffs. The 21-year-old has tallied three goals, two assists, and 10 shots through the first six games and has been thriving in a top-six role.
Hintz is a highly intelligent Finn who can play the role of scorer or playmaker; has killer instincts and a keen eye for scoring opportunities. Very high hockey-IQ and has incredible awareness on the ice; is able to play the puck creatively, all the while creating space for his adjoining teammates. Creates separation, not through physical play, but through outskating the opposition. His proactivity, recognizing and taking advantage of scoring chances, makes him a valuable teammate and offensive catalyst for whoever he plays with. A very good skater that is able to create chances through his speed.
Roope Hintz has 5 G, 3 A, in 12 Playoff games this season. it won’t be good at all Dallas if he can not go in Game 7.
However, it could just be a precautionary measure after Hintz blocked a shot on Sunday in Game 6
