Teams will be allowed to reopen training facilities in their home cities for individualized on-ice and off-ice workouts, and players can begin to participate in small group workouts on a voluntary basis. Per the NHL memo sent to the media on Thursday: “The various measures set out in the Phase 2 Protocol are intended to provide players with a safe and controlled environment in which to resume their conditioning.” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced last week that the league is aiming to return with a 24-team postseason setup played in two hub cities. Official dates for games have yet to be announced.
