The Edmonton Oilers have placed star goalie, Cam Talbot on IR. Talbot is projected to miss at least two weeks with an upper-body. Coach Todd McLellan said, “It could be longer,” which is not good news for the Oilers. Talbot has struggled to regain the form he had in 2016-17, the man won 42 games in 73 starts a season ago, setting a franchise record in the process.
Talbot is a true workhorse for the Oilers who starts nearly every game. Oilers fans cannot be happy with the way this season has unfolded thus far, and it about to get truly scary with Talbot sidelined. The team has no depth at the goaltending position….
A lot will be asked of young backup Laurent Brossoit and callup Nick Ellis during Talbot’s absence.
