Nico Hischier has agreed to a seven-year, $50.75 million contract with the New Jersey Devils.
Hischier’s newly signed deal will begin in 2020-21 and run through 2026-27. “Nico is a special person who possesses a team-first mentality combined with an inner drive to succeed,” said Devils GM Ray Shero. “The entire organization is thankful to him and his family for believing in our future. We are excited that he will continue to play a prominent role with us for many years to come.” Hischier has a lot of upside, so this contract could end up being a solid one for the Devils. That said, it is on the high side given his body of work so far. He has 37 goals and 101 points in 157 career games.
