Nathan MacKinnon extends point streak to 14 games

Nathan MacKinnon picked up a goal and an assist in Wednesday’s 4-1 win over Dallas in Game 6

MacKinnon is a machine. The 25-year-old has picked up at least one point in every game since the Avs returned to action and he’s now riding a 14-game point streak. MacKinnon registered the primary assist on Mikko Rantanen’s third-period insurance marker, which made it 3-1 for the Avs and he also added an empty-netter with under three minutes remaining. This is the second consecutive game that the Avs manage to win while facing elimination. Colorado and Dallas will go head-to-head in Game 7 on Friday night. A spot in the Western Conference Final will be up for grabs.

Gabriel Landeskog’s availability for Game 7 against Dallas on Friday is uncertain.

“That’s the injury, was the cut,” coach Jared Bednar said. “Everyone saw that and knows that. I don’t know exactly what his status is going to be (for Game 7 on Friday).” Landeskog was hurt in the second period when Cale Makar’s skate caught him above the knee. He returned midway through the third period, but it was only for a brief shift followed by another test during a TV timeout. Bednar declined to comment on what the lineup could look like for the Avalanche in Game 7, so we may not know who is in or out until the pregame warmups.
