Leon Draisaitl scored the game-winner during Friday’s 6-5 OT win over the New York Rangers

After Kevin Lowe’s number went to the rafters at Rogers Place Friday, captain Connor McDavid, far from a retiring sort, made sure it stayed a banner night for the Edmonton Oilers in a wild 1980s style game that Lowe was often apart of.

McDavid rallied his team with an incredible goal with three minutes left. He serpentined through four helpless checkers, then tucked it past New York Rangers goalie Aleksandar Georgiev to get it to OT where Leon Draisaitl won it at 3:27 for a 6-5 win.

Into OT Draisaitl sealed the victory for Edmonton. Draisaitl now has 23 points in just ten games played.

The Edmonton Oilers are now 9-1 to start a season for the first time ever!
