Ivan Provorov scored the overtime winner and assisted on another in Thursday’s 5-4 double overtime Game 6 win over the New York Islanders
Scott Mayfield’s stick exploded on him when trying to dump it into Philly’s end, leading to an odd-man rush for the Flyers that Provorov converted for the winner. This was an incredible back-and-forth battle between the clubs and Philadelphia has done well to force a Game 7 after being down 3-1 in this series. Provorov now has points in three straight games, bringing the 23-year-old blueliner to three goals eight points in 15 games since the restart. The deciding Game 7 matchup is scheduled for Saturday. Kevin Hayes, James van Riemsdyk, Scott Laughton and Michael Raffl also scored for the Flyers in the win.
