Golden Knights advance to Western Final


The Vegas Golden Knights just keep adding to their incredible storied season.

These  Golden Knights advanced to the Western Conference Final with a 3-0 road win against the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 Sunday.


Marc-Andre Fleury was once again the star of the show for Vegas, making 28 saves recording his fourth shutout of the postseason.

After a shaky first frame for the which saw the Sharks hit the post a few times  The Knights rode a two-goal second period to victory.

Jonathan Marchessault gave Vegas a 1-0 lead at 6:33 of the second period. After William Karlsson forced a turnover by Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic near the blue line, Reilly Smith got the loose puck and passed to Marchessault, who beat Jones five-hole from the slot


Nate Schmidt extended the lead to 2-0 at 15:38 with a wrist shot from the point. Initially ruled no goal, a horn sounded to stop play, the review showed that the puck did, hit the net cam and cross the goal line.



With the San Jose Sharks facing elimination, we expected a desperate third. However, as they have all year, Vegas kept the gas pedal down. Cody Eakin scored into an empty net at 18:09 of the third period to make it 3-0. Now, The Vegas Golden Knights will play the winner of the Nashville-Winnipeg series in the Western Conference Final.
