Flames acquire Hamilton from Bruins for draft picks

According to several reports, the Calgary Flames have acquired Dougie Hamilton from the Boston Bruins in exchange for multiple picks in the 2015 NHL Draft. Defense was the main reason the Calgary Flames were able to make it back into the playoffs for the first time in six years this season. In my opinion,  Dougie Hamilton is one of the best young defenseman in the league today, and will only add to a position of strength for the organization. Hamilton recently turned 22 years old, and is coming off a career season : Posting an impressive 42 points in 72 contests.

The Boston Bruins received a bundle of good selection in the trade. They will be picking: 15, 45 and 52. Not bad for an asset that is set to become a restricted free agent on July 1. Be interesting to see what the Calgary Flames do to fit Hamilton in the group.
