Edmonton Oilers 5-0 to start season

The Edmonton Oilers defeated the New York Rangers 4-1 on Saturday afternoon to remain a perfect 5-0 on the season.

This is the team’s best start since 1984-85. I was not even born for another four years…

Leon Draisaitl scored two goals and registered an assist in a 4-1 win against the Edmonton Oilers.

The reason for this great start is easy: Everyone is understanding their Job.

Draisaitl has four goals and 11 points in five games this season. Connor McDavid and Oscar Klefbom each scored a goal and registered an assist. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, and Ethan Bear each recorded an assist for the Oilers

Mike Smith stopped 20 of 21 shots. Smith surrendered the game’s first goal at 18:28 of the first period, but he was sharp otherwise, allowing the Oilers to eventually take this game. Edmonton improved to 5-0-0 this season. It’s still so early in the campaign, but there’s reason for some cautious optimism about Edmonton.

A bright sport for New York. Rookie Kaapo Kakko scored his first NHL goal.

Every area is improved this year so far in Edmonton.

Keep it going, boys!
