The St. Louis Blues and forward Robert Thomas have agreed to a two-year contract just two days before St. Louis’ training camp starts, the team announced on Tuesday. The deal is worth an annual average value of $2.8 million.

Thomas, the Blues’ last unsigned restricted free agent, will be on the ice when training camp opens, the team said.

St. Louis selected Thomas, 22, with the No. 20 pick of the 2017 NHL Draft. Last season, he played in 33 games, posting 12 points (three goals, nine assists). He missed 23 games due to injury.

Thomas has played in 169 career games, totaling 87 points (22 goals, 65 assists) over three seasons.

Thomas is one of my favorite young players in hockey. If St. Louis can get this kid going again after injury. The team has great value on its hands.
