Alex Ovechkin scored the go-ahead goal as the Capitals took a 2-1 lead in their Second Round series
Alex Ovechkin scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday’s 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Ovechkin helped set up John Carlson’s power-play goal in the second period to give the Caps a 1-0 lead at the time. He also scored the above game-winning goal with 1:07 remaining in regulation when he batted the puck out of the air moments after ringing it off the post. Ovechkin finished the night with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes, two shots on goal and four hits in 20:24 of ice time. The 32-year-old has put together six multi-point efforts in nine games during this postseason. He’s up to eight goals and five assists during the 2018 playoffs.
This Washington group looks different than in playoffs past.
